The Launceston Chamber of Commerce hosted a members meeting at Restaurant G's, a charming new addition to our local scene. The event was held on 21st May, and started at 6:30 pm, allowing attendees to mingle and enjoy refreshments at the bar before the meeting officially began.

Emma, our Chair, opened the meeting at 7:00 pm, welcoming everyone.

Meet and Greet

Our committee members, who balance their time between their businesses and voluntary roles at the Chamber, introduced themselves. They shared details about their responsibilities within the Chamber and their professional backgrounds. Attendees also had the opportunity to introduce themselves and their businesses, which helped build a sense of community and connection among those present.

Presentation on Upcoming Masterclass Initiative

A major highlight of the evening was the introduction of our new masterclass initiative by Vron, our Membership Coordinator. These sessions are aimed at enhancing our members' skills and adding significant value to their Chamber membership. The initiative received a warm reception, and members were encouraged to complete a survey to help us tailor the masterclasses to meet their needs.

We were delighted to have Tim Bagshaw with us to give a preview of the masterclass he will be leading in June/July, available exclusively to Chamber members.

Discussion on Immediate Projects

Ellie led a discussion on our exciting upcoming project, the Farmers’ Market. She detailed the plan and its benefits to the local community, and highlighted how members can get involved. This initiative is designed to serve the community and also provide substantial opportunities for local businesses.

Informal Networking

The evening concluded with an informal networking session, where members discussed potential collaborations and ways to support each other. Inspired by a fellow member's remark—"If I could just do business with all the other business owners in Launceston, I wouldn't need anyone to walk in off the street to make ends meet."—the room was abuzz with ideas for mutual support.

The meeting not only addressed the challenges we face but also celebrated the positivity and resilience within our community. It was wonderful to see new faces and reconnect with old friends in a spirit of cooperation that defines our Chamber.

Thank you to all who attended and to Restaurant G's for the fantastic venue. We are excited about the potential of what we can achieve together in the upcoming months!
